Estate Tax Portability

While I am sure that everyone's Estate Planning attorney has passed this information along to those that have lost a loved one since portability has come into the scene on estate tax matters.  Even if you do not have over the $5 Million threshold, you should still file an Estate Tax Return so that you can claim portability.  After all you never know when you will hit the powerball jackpot.  If you do not file an Estate Tax return you will never be able to claim portability for a married couple.
